MUTATED RAT

Description:
These are not the rats as humans remember them; not furry and white house pets of the last century; they are not even the gray nasty critters from your lab; no, these are different creatures. They came form the darkest corners of the modern world - from sewer systems and underground. Sometimes it seems that mutated rats do not even consider humans as a threat but as a mere food source. One or two rats typically do not pose any threat, however they do become aggressive once there are more than five of them. The larger individuals pose greater threat, as they seem to be more intelligent and possibly can coordinate their actions with others. The method of attack varies, sometimes they prefer to surround the victim and then attack one by one; sometimes they will attack all at once, overwhelming the victim. It is known that with age rats get more powerful as they feed on various waste and endure radiation. Their bodies grow to enormous sizes and their teeth get so large and sharp that they are able to bite through even the toughest body armor. If their growth and development is not curbed soon enough swarms of mutated rats will fill up the territories close to Cities and dire times for humans will begin.

Known kinds:
Grey rat - most common kind, present nearly everywhere. Small packs typically do not pose any danger; however, larger packs can be deadly.
Black rat - relatively rare, much larger and more resilient than less mutated gray kind. Even characters with powerful armor will not walk away unscathed from a scuffle with a black rat.
Pale rat - extremely rare kind, unlike other rats, pale rats have very fast metabolism that helps them cure any wounds very quickly. Due to unusual diet their saliva can be poisonous, even lethal. Hide of pale rats is very tough and is inferior only to that of Dune rate.
Dune rat - very large but slow creatures with extremely tough hide. Their jaws are powerful enough to bite off a limb. Luckily this kind typically does not live in areas populated by humans. Due to unusual need for metal in their diet Dune rats are able to eat and digest small metal objects.
Swamp rat - exceptionally fast and agile creature that attacks suddenly and deadly. Poison from bites of swamp rates causes hallucinations and temporary paralysis of the bitten limb. Swamp rates are rare and prefer to avoid rather than attack humans.
